Harlem native Mark Nevers, a seasoned photographer with an 18-year journey in photojournalism and portraiture, delves into the complexities of race and perception. A recipient of the Jocelyne Benzakin Fellowship and a graduate of the International Center of Photography, Mark's bold work has earned him the Howard Chapnick Grant. Together with colleagues, he co-founded the NYC Bridge Project, a manifestation of their commitment to community outreach and empowering the younger generation to articulate their narratives.

For over a decade, Mark has served as a teaching artist, sharing his profound insights not only at the International Center of Photography but also across diverse organizations throughout New York. His teaching transcends technicalities; it's a passionate sharing of experiences, sparking creativity in his students. As a member of the Jocelyne Benzakin Fellows, Mark has seamlessly blended powerful portraiture with a deep commitment to social issues.
